- Square balers for small-sized bales
Balers for square bales come in two versions: with lateral hitch with a shift and rear-mounted.
Most users prefer side hitch machines, as one glance is enough to check the flow of the crop to the baler.
You do not have to constantly twist your head and strain your neck. In addition, it is worth considering how you are going to unload the pressed bales from the machine.
If you have several friends or family members who are ready to help, then the bales can simply be picked up and stacked on a trailer the same day.
If you work on your own, then, apparently, it makes sense to invest in a bale thrower, which throws the bales into a trailer for transporting hay, which follows the baler. - Round balers
If you prefer a round baler, look for one that will quickly and simply press dense, tightly knit bales.
The baler should have a wide, low-profile pick-up with densely spaced fingers.
This will help prevent shedding and ensure high quality of the bales.
In addition, make sure that the bale shape control system is conveniently located and easy to use.
P. S. PRACTICAL ADVICE Usually the tighter and denser the crop is compressed in a bale, the less it is subject to damage. It is generally accepted that the average density of a bale should be at least 160 kg /m3.
